POU AMC Nova Gradiska is an adult education institution founded in 2003, but our roots date back to the fifties , wit foundation of Automobile Association, ie, today’s Auto Club Nova Gradiska. Therefore, as expected, our primary sector of education is education in the field of Road Transport.
By Croatian accession to the EU, there have been changes in relation to the training of professional drivers, and our University was among the first institutions that have adapted to these changes, even actively participated in them.
In accordance with the Law on Road Transport (NN 82/2013), which is compliant with Directive 2003/59/EC, professional drivers Croatian citizens, drivers and citizens of third countries who are employed in companies established in the Republic Croatia, must have the initial qualification and regularly train in reserve periodic training if they drive vehicles that require Driving license categories C1, C1E, C or CE,and Driving license categories D1, D1E, D or DE.
Acquiring initial qualification is provided for in Law on Road Transport and it acquires the qualification through testing, accelerated acquisition of initial qualification or through secondary education and retraining for occupation Professional driver, as well as through other forms of education or training, provided that the education or vocational training driver includes facilities prescribed under this Act. After completing education for the Professional driver, along with regular certificate the participants are issued the certificate of Competency of the initial qualification.
Since the process of acquiring the initial qualification testing of knowledge and the rapid acquisition of initial qualification is still rnot so widespread, the most common form of acquisition of initial qualifications is still a program of secondary education and re-training for the occupation Professional driver of the vehicle.
POU AMC Nova Gradiska from October 2014 to May 2015, as part of its regular activities began training 150 future Professional drivers, of which 65 have already qualified for taking the final exam in June, and at leaste that much are expected to finish schooling in September 2015.
Participants of this program are colorful. Some drivers have been working in this profession, some are planning to engage in this proffesion from another occupation, and some of the participants are young people without work experience, who graduated from another school in which unfortunately do not see a future.
All drivers are to acquire basic knowledge in professional as well as some general subjects. As the program the Driver of the motor vehicle is not yet fully adapted to Directive 2003/59 / EC, our teachers, who are familiar with the programs of IRU Academy, along with the basics, give the emphasis on training in rational driving, implementation of regulations, health, road safety and protection of environment.
Our teachers are constantly trying to adapt to each student personally, to their working and private commitments, and we are really happy that from, for us, from a large number of future 150 drivers, this year not a single student has given up the intention to complete this program and actively engage in road transport activities.
We wish to all of our students a successful business, and sincerely hope that we will see them in five years on the periodic training of drivers.
