Eat2Meet spreads knowledge on Social Entrepreneurship

The 5th of December 2021

Someone once said, “teamwork makes the dream work”, and honestly, when we first participated in the trainings of the SEED project, we had no idea we were going to make it this far. At the end of the last training, we set up some goals and recently finished most of them. Here’s what we were doing for the last 4 weeks...

Social entrepreneurship is not something everyone knows about. In fact, some of us didn’t know it exists before this project, so to introduce students in our school to social entrepreneurship and the idea of our restaurant, we divided into teams and presented social entrepreneurship and our social enterprise Eat2Meet, and that way we covered the whole school, students, and teachers.

Furthermore, since the 10th of December is the social entrepreneurship day, we decided to celebrate it in our school through some activities. Namely, the plan was to make a competition for the students (due date: 6th of December). Their job was to draw their vision of our restaurant Eat2Meet by hand or in a digital tool. We’d then display the artworks in our school and our jury, Fani and Natalia, would pick the best drawing. The winner of the competition is going to be rewarded. Hence, if you still haven’t given us your work, hurry up, tomorrow’s your last chance! That’s all for now, you’ll read more about how it went in our next post the following month. :)

Besides this, as one of the tasks from the last training was to find a donator who would support us during the project, we contacted juice and salad bar Priroda i Društvo - the one we already visited in May of this year. They will help us reward the winner of the mentioned competition and provide food for the other activities on the 10th of December.

Finally, we visited Maslina, a pizzeria located in the center of our town. The owner is an ex-student from our school, and we were introduced to their social work. The pizzeria supports Moje mjesto pod Suncem, a program that is working on social inclusion and integration of children and parents who live in bad social and economic conditions. For marked meals, they donate a percentage of the profit to the program. This really made us joyful since we can see the pizzeria succeeded with an idea that is similar to Eat2Meet.

There’s still a lot of work left ahead of us, but the big inspiration is pushing us forward. On the 5th of January, you’ll be informed about all the activities we’ll do before the Christmas holidays. In the end, we’d like to thank Priroda i Društvo, Maslina, Moje mjesto pod Suncem, and our professors Maja Matejčić and Sanda Mlačić who helped us in making all once unimaginable ideas come to life. Thank you. <3
